really nice color job and stuff. Although the shadoes are faintily defined, maybe making them stronger would be a better idea, since the lighting is so strong. Another thing u could try is flattening the psd, and make a copy of it, and change it to multiply or overaly, and see what kind of effects just "pop" up from the color.
there is a wonderful atmosphere to this painting, its very likeable!! the gothic feel of super-dark and super-light really play well with the little colour details you added.
one thing you might reconsider next time is the intensity of the red you used on the face- very sharp.. or maybe you wanted the skin a bit greenish? not completely sure. or there might be a lack of detail on the cheek of the face, but that i am not sure either.. you got me perplexed! but if you wanted the face a bit greenish, i would suggest that you use a darker green instead of the blood-red --- or if you want his blood red, then maybe some colder red color.
I actually like the light shading rather than something heavy, and the scales just look brilliant. I can see that he is a touch femmy, but I honestly think you struck a great balance.
Realy Realy good m8, has human qualitys that are so hard to capture, the eyes have emotion and the hair looks like you could move it across the screen.

Ooh, very cool. He looks more masculine when in full view than in the preview for some reason. Maybe you should make the scales a bit more obvious so they don't look like a disease.
I lurve the eyes, including the eyebrows & eyelashes, and especially those scales, great touch. His lips are what makes him look femmy to me, rather than the hair, but anyway... the skin color is really cool... definitely not quite human, but almost trying to be. And I like the funky-shaped ear. The shadows are great.
My only suggestion would be sharpening the hair a bit... I was going to say that, soft like it is, it suits the almost-soft-focus of the rest of the picture, but then the eyebrows are quite detailed. But the shadows that the hair casts give it solidity anyway, so it's no big deal. It's an awesome portrait.

Wow, this is very nice.. He has a wonderful expression on his face. ^_^ I agree, I think it's the lips that actually make him look more feminine than the hair. I kind of like how his face is just a little bit flushed on his cheeks and nose.. it makes him look like he just got finished crying and/or running a marathon a few minutes ago.
